Importance of living

Today I learnt a lesson of living from my old mother. I always felt, I had enough of living in my 50years.Having finished the responsibilities of educating, marrying the girls etc, I am ready to leave the world, when my call comes as I have no desires left.

I see my mother (82 years), thinking about the next meal, planning and helping in execution of the same. She waits longingly for the meal times and eats moderately and that ofcourse shows in her health also.
Unlike her daughters', she has no ailments and even her teeth at this age are intact. She loves life to this day and that shows in her being.

I think I must take a lesson or two from her life's pages.

The other day I read the book, Secret letters from the Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma. One of the letters had a teaching about" Leaving behind a legacy"
What the author wanted to say was that, one has to leave one's foot print on this world when one leaves for the future generations.I found this to be a profound thought for the likes of me who are so ready to leave this earth.

We think of going away from this world, when there is so much to be dealt with. Even if we can reach out and do some thing or touch one life, that is a step towards the goal of leaving footprints.

I am going to take this seriously as I want to leave my foot print.
